FEC Server Panel Overview

The following describes the operation of the FEC Server panel features:

By enabling the FEC server, a recorded missionResults.xml file will be compressed via XSBC then GZipped. The FEC encoder will then encode the resulting *xsbc.gz file by breaking it up into appropriate blocks which are uniquely calculated by the size of the *xsbc.gz file. Net transport will be via UDP to the decoder which will reverse the process and archive the file for later retrival.

For a minimal overhead cost by encoding the file before transport, file reproduction is ensured with great success should a packet loss (erasure) situation be encountered. Only k of n repair packets per message block are needed to reprocuce the original file during decoding.

The Manual conversions panels are for demonstration purposes only and provide no utility within the AUV Workbench.
