Autonomous Underwater Vehicle Workbench Naval Postgraduate School, Monterey, CA www.nps.edu By: Mike Bailey Date: Sep 3, 2004 Time: 1:02:43 PM A class to attempt to consolidate (somewhat) requests to kill an app. All existing calls to System.exit(int x) would be changed to VMexitHandler.instance().sysExit(x). In addition, any object may register itself as a listener, and be notified when the above call has been made. It will then have a chance to (hopefully) clean up any internal pending stuff. Also, a listener has a chance to abort the exit if it returns true. This latter is probably not too useful, since existing calls to System.exit() are most likely nested in an unrecoverable context, but it is here if a developer wants to try using it.
